Because it was impossible for God to appear to man as God, God had to change his outward form.
When the Bible tells us Jesus took the form of a servant, it uses the Greek Word ‘morphe’, meaning Jesus existed in the exact form of a man, with all the freedoms and limitations.
Jesus left his heavenly home and took upon Himself human flesh. He has stood in our place.
